QUALITY ASSURANCE AND SANITATION SUPERVISOR
Day Shift: 7am to 4pm Monday thru Friday (off shift hours as
needed)
Your seat at the table
The Quality Assurance and Sanitation Supervisor position is
accountable for the efficient coordination of team members aiming
to conduct quality verification of finished products, through
effective execution in directing and monitoring the quality
assurance process. This position also supervises the safe and
timely cleaning of the facility and equipment in accordance with
all Company, Customer, Certification and Regulatory requirements
and supports facility compliance with records verification. This
position partners with other areas of the operation and external
vendors to coordinate and continuously improve the facility Master
Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

- Supervises and monitors the activities of employees engaged in
conducting verification of finished products
- Ensures behaviors, practices, and the work environment supports
a safe and food safe workplace by enforcing safety, Good
Manufacturing Practices, and sanitation rules and
principles
- Ensures product quality via periodic auditing of specification
adherence
- Communicate issues and developments identified during quality
assurance and sanitation activities along with corrective
actions
- Customer complaint investigation and root cause
analysis
- Coordinating cross-functionally the MSS and IPM schedules and
needs
- Planning, launching and modifying work schedules, assignments,
and sanitation sequences to meet performance standards and MSS
requirements
- Monitoring chemical inventories and sanitation equipment to
ensure hazardous materials and/or wastes are handled
properly
- Coordinate new hire orientation and annual training for
employees relating to quality, sanitation, and food safety
programs
- Utilizes metrics/data to evaluate and improve quality assurance
and sanitation procedures and processes, as well as
efficiencies
- Oversees calibration, maintenance, and repair of quality
assurance and sanitation equipment
- Monitor, support, and enforce all food safety processes and
procedures including SQF, AIB, and customer specific
standards
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry
quality assurance codes and standards
- Trained as PCQI, conducts verification/validation of
preventative controls
- Trained as SQF Practitioner
- Participation in Internal Audits and Food Safety
inspections
- Conducts reviews of non-conforming material (finished product)
and ensures product control is maintained and corrective actions
are developed
- Support recall program activities (trace exercises, mass
balances, training)
- Serve as HACCP Coordinator
- Assists in implementing quality assurance and sanitation
improvement plans to improve quality assurance and sanitation
procedures
- Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and
production sequences to meet performance standards
- Coordinate direct report scheduling to satisfy facility
needs
- Utilizes standard work processes to ensure repeatable
performance
- Monitors quality assurance and sanitation goals and levels to
make sure they are consistent with performance standards
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate operations and
activities within or between departments
- Observes quality control equipment and product to ensure that
employees conform to quality assurance standards
- Supporting policy compliance, procedure execution and records
collection to ensure consistently successful audits and
inspections
- Tracks employees' work performance and attendance to ensure
performance metrics are met
- Directs employees involved in the quality assurance and
sanitation process
What you bring to the table
Education and Work Experience
- High school or equivalent degree required; a two-year technical
or bachelor's degree is preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance and/or sanitation
management or supervision role, preferably in the food processing
industry. Experience may be used as a substitute for
education
- RCA/CAPA experience
- Sanitation experience is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Food Safety training or certifications such as HACCP, PCQI,
SQF, BRC
- Chemical management, application, and safe handling
practices
- Knowledge of adult-learning methods for training and coaching
individuals and groups
- Knowledge of techniques for maximizing the balance of
production, maintenance and sanitation for a manufacturing
operation
- Computer skills such as Excel, Word, Power Point, Share Point,
Email, and data management programs such as Access, Cleanz,
Maintenance Connect or other comparable system
- Time management skills; personal and team
- Organizational skills; personal and team
- Interpersonal skills
- Decision-making skills
- Mechanical aptitude for proper assembly, use and repair of
equipment and communication with equipment vendors
- Ability to work within an integrated operating
enterprise
- Ability to manage hourly team members in executing complex
programs

- Knowledge, skills, and abilities consistent with the essential
