Applications Engineering Manager - Manufacturing ProcessesWe are actively seeking an experienced Applications Engineering Manager who will be instrumental in the development of manufacturing processes for complete BIW tooling systems. This role demands a seasoned professional capable of preparing detailed cost analyses, process diagrams, and technical descriptions for customer system quotes. As a leader, you will steer our engineering team towards optimizing production capabilities, working closely with cross-functional teams to refine processes and drive efficiency improvements.Salary: $90,000.00 - $170,000.00 per yearEssential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Generate and prepare detailed quotes for manufacturing systems based on engineering releases.
• Conduct cycle time analyses and create conceptual drawings, sequences of operations, and elaborate on major system components' technical specifications.
• Determine appropriate estimated margins for all quoted jobs, ensuring profitability and financial health of projects.
• Estimate the cost of new equipment and any capital investments necessary to support production.
• Facilitate negotiations with project management teams regarding project changes and cost adjustments, also negotiating directly with customers when necessary.
• Analyze preliminary sketches and engineering data to accurately determine items to be included in quotes.
• Lead the Concepting Processes for efficient component manufacturing within automated weld lines based on customer requirements.
• Engage directly with customers during proposal kick-off meetings to ensure alignment with plant requirements.
• Collaborate with sales teams to review and modify process concepts and quotes based on customer feedback.
• Liaise with the Purchasing department to obtain quotes for necessary capital equipment.
• Coordinate with various management teams to evaluate and assign labor hours required for project completion.
• Partake in budget reviews to compare quoted margins against actuals, adjusting quoting templates as necessary.
• Recommend and implement new estimating processes and improvements to enhance department efficiency.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the department on the quoting process and oversee all quotes from initialization to project kick-off.
• Offer continual support and direction to the department, ensuring high levels of accuracy and commitment across the board.Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in cost estimating or process engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a relevant industry.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team for at least 2 years.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes with the ability to interpret engineering layouts and data.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly related to financial data and cost estimations.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills with a talent for multi-tasking.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work effectively and efficiently under minimal supervision.
  • Willing and able to travel locally and long-distance to customer sites for field checks as necessary.Preferred Qualifications:
    • Prior experience quoting entire BIW tooling assemblies is highly desirable.Skills:
      • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
      • Strong capabilities in using AutoCAD for designing and conceptualizing.
      • Ability to provide leadership and strategic direction to a technical team.
      • Skilled in financial and operational decision-making.
