This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000. As an Interventional Vascular Technologist, you will provide technical assistance in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures. Some of your responsibilities will include acquiring images, processing images and providing emergency on call assistance. • Utilize sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and perform vascular, interventional and surgical procedures per protocol.
• Establish effective working relationships and utilize a team approach to process improvement.
• Perform duties in instances when normal, routine practice cannot be applied, often in high stress situations.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Check and prepare patients prior to Vascular-Interventional study and ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams.
• Sets-up or operate injector to administer contrast agents for procedures.
• Manually inject contrast agent if no pressure injector is utilized.
• Operate ancillary equipment adherent to specific procedures.
• Screen patients for ability to undergo procedure by understanding baseline lab requirements.
• Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast drug interactions and major effects.
• Position patient to obtain radiographic exposure, adjust exposure factors and process images.
• Adapt imaging and therapeutic procedures with professional judgment to improve diagnostic quality and therapeutic outcome.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS and complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
• Immediately report malfunctions to help desk and PACS Administrator.
• Processes billing via RIS.
• Record and maintain procedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopic time and procedural information.
• Monitor equipment, systems, cleans equipment and effects timely repair.
• Teach and instruct students and new hires. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing
  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Knowledge of Radiologic Physics and Computerized Vascular Equipment to safely inject and image human vascular anatomy
  • Knowledge of Vascular Anatomy and Pathology sufficient to apply to interventional and diagnostic exams Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
    • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
    • Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography R.T.(R)(CV)(ARRT) or Vascular-Interventional Radiology R.T.(R)(VI)(ARRT) Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
