About The Position

years of ER experienceLicense: State License required, no
exceptionsCertifications: - Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
or Family Practice with ER experience- ACLS/ATLS/PALS (for non-EM
boarded physicians)- BLSMust-Have:- Clean background for quick
credentialing- Local residency required - Valid DEA (verbal
confirmation required)Job Description:- Provide locum coverage to
address recruitment gap- Support staff includes one full-time
midlevel provider and two PRN midlevel providers- ED has four
full-time physicians and one PRN physician- Average daily patient
volume is 54 in an 18-bed ED- Uses Cerner for EHR- 90% of total
hospital admissions come from the ED- 8% of ED patients admitted to
the hospital, 2% transferred daily- Provisional Level 4 Trauma
designation- Annual ER volume: 20,000- Fast Track not available-
Supervise the midlevel on duty- Respond to house codes with the
support of the hospitalist, who runs codes, and anesthesia
available during the day- Most admissions are handled by
hospitalists- ED responsible for supervising Paramedics/ambulance
by radio- Referral/transfer protocol includes nearby facilities for
specialty coverage or bed availability- Radiology has 24-hour
availability for CT and X-ray, but not MRI- 24-hour availability
for Laboratory services- Pathology and Blood Bank certified- Full
surgical services available with orthopedic support- Cardiologists
do EKG interpretationsPlease note that immunization records will be
required for occupational health clearance, including Hep B, MMR,
Varicella, Flu (for the current season), Covid documentation, TB
test within 12 months, and TDAP (within the last 10 years).
