Job Description:
The copywriter will be the trusted consultant on matters of
language and must be able to devise original, strategically sound
and persuasive copy that is in line with client-approved direction,
working with art resources where appropriate. The copywriter
demonstrates a wide breadth of abilities from long form to
headlines to calls-to-action to brand manifestos, has excellent
grammar and spelling skills, and can respond positively to feedback
from the client. Responsibilities:
Attends briefing sessions and discusses brand and purpose of the
brief with the appropriate members of the brand/project management
teamsHelps present layouts and storyboards to Creative Director for
approvalMay, on occasion, present layouts and storyboards to client
for approvalStays abreast of trends, talent, competitive
advertising and target mindsetWhere necessary, challenges
preconceptions and proposes alternative approaches or solutions
that more effectively achieve the objectives identified in the
briefWorks with an Art Director, Creative Director or alone, if
necessary, to create appropriate conceptsCan tell compelling
storiesOn approval of concept by account team and client, prepares
full copy documentsProvides writing support and expertise on a wide
variety of mediaExpresses thorough understanding of client's
business as well as their competitor'sManages own time and output
in line with deadline and budgetary requirements of the
jobBrainstorms and develops creative concepts that are on
strategyPresents work internally to creative and account
teamsShadows senior-level creatives as they present work to
clientsCollaborates with account, social media, UX and editing
teamsExperience:2+ years of copywriting experience within digital
marketing or advertising industryPortfolio is required to
demonstrate creative skillsDemonstrated judgment and imagination
for the creation of an advertisementExperience with online content
(websites, email, banner ads, social media, etc.)Experience with
print pieces is a plusExperience in emerging platformsMotivated,
self-starter with an action orientated and can-do attitudeCapable
of juggling multiple projects, sticking to deadlines and ensuring
high-quality error-free output Location:MRM Detroit team members
must reside in a commutable distance, or be willing to relocate, to
the Detroit area unless otherwise agreed upon by their manager and
